Terms of Use
Short, and written to be read. Using Ease Down means you accept what is on this page.
The agreement
These terms are between you and STILL ALIVE SRL, a company registered in Romania ("we", "us"), and they cover the Ease Down iPhone app and this website. By downloading or using the app you agree to them. If you do not, please do not use the app.
A wellness app, not a medical device
Ease Down is a wellness app, not a medical device. It is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, prevent or monitor any disease or condition, and it is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis or treatment.
Nothing in the app or on this site is medical advice. Do not use it to make decisions about medication, treatment or whether to seek care, and do not delay or ignore medical advice because of something the app showed you. If you have a heart condition, are pregnant, or have any reason to be careful with breathing exercises, talk to a doctor before using the app.
When to stop and get help
If you have chest pain, feel faint, or struggle to breathe — during a check-in or at any other time — stop, and call your local emergency number or speak to a doctor. Do not wait for a reading. The app cannot detect an emergency and is not designed to.
Breathing exercises can make some people light-headed. Do them seated or lying down, never while driving, cycling, swimming, or doing anything else that needs your attention, and stop if you feel unwell.
About the readings
The pulse readings in Ease Down are approximate. They are estimated from the colour changes the camera sees at your fingertip, or taken from a Bluetooth sensor you paired, and they can be affected by movement, cold hands, lighting, your device, the sensor and many other things. Treat them as a rough sense of how you are doing, not as a measurement.
Your body does not respond the same way every session. A check-in that shows no change is a normal outcome, not a fault in you or in the app, and we make no promise about what your pulse will do.
The purchase
The app includes one complete check-in at no cost. After that, a single one-time purchase unlocks the rest. It is not a subscription: nothing renews and nothing expires.
- The purchase is sold and processed by Apple through the App Store, under Apple's terms and in your own currency. We do not handle your payment details.
- Refunds are handled by Apple, not by us. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com or through Apple Support. We have no power to issue, refuse or reverse a refund.
- The unlock is tied to your Apple Account. "Restore purchases" in Settings brings it back on a new device signed in to the same account.
- Prices may change for new purchases. A purchase you have already made is not withdrawn or downgraded because of it.
Your licence to use the app
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use Ease Down on Apple devices you own or control, as permitted by the App Store Terms of Service. The app is licensed, not sold. We keep all rights in the app, its name, its icon and its content.
Acceptable use
Please do not:
- copy, resell, rent, sublicense or redistribute the app;
- reverse-engineer, decompile or disassemble it, except where the law expressly allows it despite this restriction;
- circumvent the purchase, or use the app with a modified or jailbroken system to do so;
- use the app or its readings in a clinical, diagnostic, research or occupational setting, or for anyone else's health decisions;
- use it in a way that breaks the law or interferes with anyone else.
Availability and changes
We may update the app, change or remove features, or stop distributing it. Where a change would remove something you paid for, we will avoid it — the one-time unlock is meant to be a one-way door. Features described as planned, including Apple Watch support, are intentions and not promises; do not buy on the strength of them.
The app needs a supported version of iOS and a compatible iPhone. Apple Health, iCloud sync and Bluetooth sensors are optional and depend on your device, your settings and third-party hardware we do not control.
Privacy
How the app handles data is set out in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms. In short: readings stay on your iPhone, there is no account, and we do not receive your health data.
Warranties
The app is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties, including fitness for a particular purpose, and we do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any reading will be accurate.
If you are a consumer, you keep every right the law of your country gives you. Nothing here removes or limits your statutory rights, and where a term in these Terms conflicts with them, your statutory rights win.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, for lost data, or for any decision — medical or otherwise — taken on the basis of a reading in the app. Our total liability to you for any claim relating to the app is limited to the amount you paid for it in the twelve months before the claim.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited under applicable law.
Apple
Apple is not a party to these terms and has no responsibility for the app. Apple has no obligation to provide support for the app, and any claim about the app — including product liability, any failure to conform to a legal requirement, or a claim under consumer protection law — is a matter between you and us, not Apple. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of Romania, and the courts of Romania have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer resident in the EEA or the UK, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory law of the country where you live, and you may also bring proceedings there.
EU consumers can use the European Commission's online dispute resolution platform, though we would much rather you simply wrote to us first.
